CDL Truck Driver

Full-time opening for a Class A CDL driver for local routes in the twin cities. Driver will drive a standard tractor trailer semi (2006 Freightliner and 53' trailer) or a standard box truck.
• A valid Class A license and a valid State of Minnesota Driver’s License
• Maintain a valid State of Minnesota or Federal Commercial Driver Medical Card
• Loading and unloading of trucks
• Assist in Shipping/Receiving departments, as needed
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• All Routes are local to the twin Cities, no evening work.
• Responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents and packing parts.

Quality Inspector

Opening available for a Quality Inspector at our Woodbury location.
Primary role: Inspection - Candidate must thoroughly understand inspection techniques for the stamping and metal fabrication industry. Performs visual and mechanical inspection using calipers, micrometers, height gauge, pins, blocks, optical comparator, Virtek, and CMM.
Shifts:
• 2nd Shift - Monday to Friday 3:15 pm to 11:45 pm
• 2nd Shift - Monday to Thursday 3:15pm to 1:45AM
Responsibilities:
• Decide how to restrain part to produce accurate results
• Must be able to read blueprints, utilize GT&D, gage R&R, comprehends BIST and ANSI specifications, and maintain accurate records
• Must be able to utilize the following equipment: Caliper, Micrometer, Optical Comparator, Height Gauge, and Chamfer Gauge
• Knowledge of CMM is a plus
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience or 2 years of schooling

Laser Programmer / Operator

Laser Programmer / Operator Openings include both 1st (5x8's) and 2nd shifts (5x8's or 4x10's).
This position will setup and operate lasers that cut a variety of flat sheet alloys. Includes adjusting laser power and assist gas pressures. Trumpf laser experience a plus.
MAJOR AREAS OF REPONSIBILITY:
1) Prompt reliable attendance and safety minded.
2) Ability to setup and operate sheet lasers. This includes adjusting laser power, assist gas pressures and kerf offsets to maintain optimal edge quality and dimensional accuracy. Trumpf laser experience is a plus.
3) Ability to perform math, and measure part dimensions using a variety of instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges ect.
4) Must understand how to read a print and how it relates to the finished part.
5) Must be willing to multitask and learn how to run different machines such as operating automated material loaders and Amada turret punch press.
6) Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
7) Must work at a reasonable pace measured by production efficiencies and within our quality standards to insure timely completion of tasks.
8) Identify areas for process improvement, cost and waste reduction.
9) Must work in a safe manner following safety procedures.

Turret Operator/Programmer

Experienced Turret Operator/Programmer
Duties include: Set-Up and operate Turret Press. Perform punching at quoted production rates. Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions. Routine and preventative maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Must have 3 year minimum machine experience on Amada Turrets. Radan CAM software experience a plus. CAD software experience also a plus. Ability to perform math and measure part dimensions using a variety of instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, etc. Must be able to set-up turrets using knowledge of die clearances, punch assembly, tool loading and maintenance.
Proficient with inspection techniques and measuring devices. Must be able to verify parts are properly loaded and that surfaces are properly prepared for fabricating. Confirm machine settings, tooling and/or fixtures are appropriate to the part being run. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

Toolmaker Apprentice

Harvey Vogel Manufacturing offers mentoring to employees who have been thru the academic programs for tool & die making or associated courses, with a journeyman toolmaker, journeyman wire EDM operator and or journeyman CNC machinist. Thru the course of apprenticeship, it will be up to the Toolroom Manager to determine the speed and advancement of the apprentice as to when the classification of Die maker takes effect.

The trainings shall include and are not limited to the following: Introduction to the toolroom and the workflow through-out, how to use toolroom equipment such as cut-off saw, band saw, drill press, vertical mills, E-Z Trac mills, surface grinders, lathes and wire EDM machines, training on general programming for the E-Z trac machines, general introduction to the Cad system to review designs, how to build a 215 tool, how to build a 306 tool, how to prepare tool steel for heat treat, and how to assemble various type of tooling. During the training phase the toolroom apprentice will be under the supervision of a journeyman toolmaker of Harvey Vogel discretion and will work hand in hand to build new tooling and repair damaged tooling.

Toolmaker

Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Skills:
• Build and troubleshoot new tooling per design requirements
• Modify existing tooling per customer requirements
• Support multiple company departments
• Communicate with department managers on status of jobs
• Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment
• Must be able to read blue prints
• Must be able to utilize surface grinder, radial arm, Bridgeport horizontal and vertical, EZ Trac
• Knowledge and operation of all tool room equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair tooling
• Ability to follow procedures and instructions per ISO requirements

Press Brake Set Up-Operator

Harvey Vogel Manufacturing Co., a successful metal stamping company has immediate openings for an experienced Press Brake Set-Up/Operator. 1st and 2nd shift openings at our Eagan and Woodbury locations. We offer a competitive wage and benefit package.

POSITION PURPOSE: To setup and operate brake press equipment in a safe manner, with focus on customer satisfaction and on time delivery.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Set-up and operate Cincinnati Brake Press machines using such materials as: stainless steel, cold rolled steel, and Aluminum.
• Ability to prepare and run complex bend setups and forming operations. This includes custom punch/die tooling used in combination with standard tooling. Complex programming using all features of the press brake such as bending at angles, offset bends, proper back gauge transfer between steps, delays, etc.
• Ability to perform math, and measure part dimensions using a variety of instruments such as calipers, protractors, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges etc.
• Must be able to inspect parts and measure critical dimensions.
• Ability to meet production rates.
• Ability to read prints, inspect parts, and fill out inspection paperwork.
• Maintain calibrated tools.
• Ability to stand and work in various positions for several hours at a time.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Identify areas for process improvement, cost and waste reduction.
• Must work in a safe manner following safety procedures.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
• 2-3 years experience in Brake Press set-up and operations.
• Strong work ethic and good attendance.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawing, understand and follow verbal direction.
• Must adhere to company safety requirements.
• Proficient in shop math.
• Detail orientated.
• Knowledge of proforma software a plus.
